We will be running individual and small group training sessions throughout the summer. Topics covered range from speed, strength and fitness training, to technical drills, working on shooting, passing, first touch, heading, etc., to tactical sessions addressing shape, defensive and offensive positioning and patterns of play. Prices are as follows: $30 per session for one child, $40 per session for 2 children, $50 per session for 3-5 children. Sessions usually last from one hour - an hour and 15 minutes. About the coaches:
Josh Couvillion was a two-time All-State player at Jesuit, graduating in 2001. He then went on to play four years at Long Island University, a Division 1 program, earning All-Conference honors twice. Following graduation, he played two years professionally for IK Oddevold in Sweden's Division 2. For the last two years he has been at Lakeview, working with the YDP boys program and this year's premier state champion u16 boys and state finalist u18 boys. He was also head coach at De La Salle in 2007-08 and an assistant with Jesuit's state champion 2008-09 team.
James Mayes grew up a student of the game in his native Scotland. After playing at a high level for many years, he moved to the United States to further the development of soccer players. He worked with Lakeview's YDP boys program last year and will join the Lakeview Premier staff in the fall.
